Michaela Wilber, LMHC-D
My Education & Experience
I received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University at Buffalo, then went on to obtain my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Niagara University. I was able to work with teens, adults, families, and couples struggling with mental health and various addictions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have experience working with individuals and couples who are dealing with adjustment disorders, phase of life changes, communication barriers, relationship conflicts, depression, anxiety, PTSD, personality disorder, substance use, ADHD, and unhealthy sexual behaviors.
Currently, I provide services to adolescents (13 years and above), adults, and couples. Together, we will work to identify things that are going well in your life, as well as things that aren’t, we’ll find ways to engage positively in your life, and we will work to build upon your own inner strengths in order to make constructive changes.
Utilizing a holistic approach, I draw from different treatment modalities such as person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy to best fit your needs. We will spend the first few sessions getting to know you and what your needs are, and then focus on building coping skills, identifying triggers for symptoms, and learning to set boundaries for your needs.
